Hakaphos fertilizers are divided into color, soft and basic varieties. The color varieties are suitable for use in hard water and the nitrate-accentuated soft varieties Elite, Spezial, Ultra, Novell and Extra are suitable for use in soft irrigation water, usually rain or well water. The basic varieties are combination fertilizers to stabilize, lower or increase the pH value. The advantage of such mineral fertilizers is that they are immediately available to the plants. However, the long-term effect is missing here.

Hakaphos color varieties

The Hakaphos color varieties are intended for use with hard water. The ingredients are immediately available. Due to the lack of long-term effect, fertilization must be carried out. The correct dosage is important, otherwise over-fertilization or burns can occur. They can be used for foliar, litter and liquid fertilization. When spreading fertilization, it is important to ensure that the plants are dry, that the fertilizer is spread between the rows and that it is watered after fertilizing. In addition, subsequent watering promotes faster availability of nutrients. As liquid fertilizer they can be used by hand or in appropriate irrigation systems.

Tip:

These fertilizers differ in the nutrient composition or their concentration. The respective nutrient content can be seen from the numbers next to the fertilizer name.

Hakaphos red 8+12+24(+4)

Hakaphos red is a phosphate and potassium-based fertilizer with a high magnesium content and all important trace elements. The ratio according to the fertilizer name is 8% nitrogen, 12% water-soluble phosphate, 24% water-soluble potassium oxide and 4% water-soluble magnesium. Trace elements such as boron, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum and zinc are contained in lower concentrations. This fertilizer has a pH-lowering effect. It is suitable for container cultivation, fruit and vegetable cultivation, potted plants and cut flowers. The high phosphate content, as a starter fertilizer for vegetables or young plants, ensures optimal root growth and the high potassium content, as a final fertilizer, results in an improvement in the plants' frost resistance. For foliar fertilization, depending on tolerance, use a concentration of 0.5-2.0, for liquid fertilization between 0.5 and 3 and for broadcast fertilization 20-30 g/m2.

Hakaphos blue 15+10+15+(2)

Hakaphos blue has a slightly acidic effect in contrast to the red. Due to the balanced ratio between potassium and nitrogen, this fertilizer is suitable for holistic fertilization oras a universal fertilizer for pot, bed and balcony plants, cut flowers, container plants as well as fruit and vegetable cultivation. The dosage corresponds to that of the red fertilizer.

Hakaphos yellow 20+0+16+(2)

Hakaphos yellow, like Hakaphos red, has a pH-lowering effect. This fertilizer is a pure nitrogen-potassium fertilizer. It is suitable for temporary use in cases of iron deficiency or for supplying phosphate-sensitive crops, such as ericaceous plants, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, azaleas, ornamental quinces but also potted and vegetable crops. The dosage of this fertilizer also corresponds to the other color varieties.

Hakaphos green 20+5+10+(2)

This fertilizer is more nitrogen-based and also has a pH-lowering effect. It supports the vegetative growth of fruit, vegetable and container crops, potted plants and cut flowers and should be administered from root growth to flowering. It is particularly suitable for nitrogen-requiring plants such as azaleas and heathers. The dosage here also corresponds to that of the other color varieties.

Tip:

All Hakaphos color fertilizers should not be used or dissolved together with calcareous fertilizers.

Hakaphos soft varieties

Hakaphos Soft varieties are intended for use with soft well or rainwater. They are nitrate-based and, due to the nitrogen that predominates in this fertilizer group, prevent the pH value in the soil from falling and stabilize it.

  • Hakaphos soft elite 24+6+12+(2): This fertilizer is suitable for pH-stabilizing irrigation fertilization in the vegetative growth phase of fruit, vegetables, potted plants and cut flowers. The high nitrate nitrogen content supports the rooting of the pot ball. Its effect lasts even in cooler temperatures. The dosage is 0.2 and 2.0 for both foliar fertilization and liquid fertilization. It can be used under glass all year round and outdoors from March to August.
  • Hakaphos soft novell 11+11+30+(3): The ratio between nitrate and ammonium ensures that the pH value is stabilized throughout the entire culture phase when Hakaphos soft novell is used with soft irrigation water. It is particularly suitable for crops that require potassium, such as spring bloomers, vegetables and summer potted perennials such as azaleas and cyclamen. The dosage for foliar fertilization is 0.5-2.0 depending on tolerance and for broadcast fertilization between 0.5 and 3.
  • Hakaphos soft plus 14+6+24+(3): The composition of this fertilizer is based on a high nitrate content, making it suitable for ornamental and vegetable plants as well as nursery crops. Even at low temperatures, it ensures an optimal nitrogen supply for ornamental plants such as begonias, gerberas, cyclamens or carnations as well as vegetable plants such as tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and container crops. For foliar fertilization 0.5-2.0 are administered, for scatter fertilization on vegetables and cut flowers 20-30 g/m2 and for liquid fertilization between 0.5 and 3.
  • Hakaphos soft special 16+8+22+(3): The nitrogen contained predominantly as nitrate nitrogen in Hakaphos soft special stabilizes the pH value of the soil and promotes root growth. It is equally suitable for fruit, vegetables, potted plants and cut flowers. The dosage corresponds to that of Hakaphos soft plus.
  • Hakaphos soft ultra 18+12+18+(2): Due to its balanced nitrogen-potassium ratio, this fertilizer ensures an optimal phosphate supply during the plants' generative and vegetative phase, even at cooler temperatures. While the generative phase refers to the period in which the plant forms seeds. The vegetative phase precedes flower and fruit formation and primarily refers to the increase in mass. The dosage corresponds to that of soft plus.

Hakaphos basic varieties

Hakaphos basic varieties are optimized in their composition. These potassium-focused combination fertilizers are used in combination with nitrogen-based fertilizers and can lower, increase or stabilize the pH value of the soil. They are usually used until the pH of the soil has been regulated, after which the colored or soft varieties are used depending on the water quality. The basic varieties are suitable for growing fruit and vegetables and for ornamental plants as well as changing water qualities. The dosage for Hakaphos Basis 2 and 3 is in a ratio of 1:1 to the respective nitrogen partner fertilizer, for Hakaphos Basis 4 it is 1:3 and for Hakaphos Basis 5 it is 1:2.

Tip:

Before using these combination fertilizers, it is advisable to have a soil analysis carried out.

Conclusion

When it comes to the different Hakaphos fertilizers, it is important to know that the color varieties are designed for use in hard water. The nitrate-focused soft types, on the other hand, are intended for use in soft water, while the potassium-focused basic types are combined with nitrogen fertilizers and regulate the pH value of the soil.

What you should know about Hakaphos in brief

  • Hakaphos fertilizer is a fully water-soluble and purely mineral fertilizer with trace elements.
  • It is mainly used in commercial cultivation.
  • The advantage is that all nutrients are immediately available in dissolved form.
  • This fertilizer does not have a long-term effect. You have to fertilize regularly.

It is important when fertilizing with Hakaphos, regardless of whether you use the green, red or blue fertilizer, to dose it exactly, otherwise over-fertilization, burns and leaching can occur. This fertilizer is therefore not necessarily suitable for beginners. The individual colors of the Hakaphos fertilizers mean different compositions. These are explained below:

Hakaphos green

Hakaphos green is a water-soluble, nitrogen-rich nutrient s alt for fertilizing crops in the growth phase. It is an NPK fertilizer with magnesium in a ratio of 20+5+10 (+2). It also contains boron, copper, iron, manganese, zinc and molybdenum. Hakaphos green is a nutrient s alt with a physiologically acidic effect. It is suitable for houseplants, vegetables and woody plants. It is particularly good for use on ericaceous bed crops, young plants, green plants, to promote the vegetative phase and for leaf formation. Hakaphos green is added from the start of root growth until flowering. Foliar fertilization is ideal for green plants. Scatter fertilization is more recommended for cut flowers and vegetable crops. Spreading is always only between the rows. The plants must be dry. Then it is poured. This prevents caustic damage and guarantees a rapid nutrient effect.

Hakaphos red

Hakaphos red is also a water-soluble nutrient s alt, but it is high in phosphate and potassium and has a high magnesium content. This fertilizer is ideal as a deadline fertilizer for horticultural crops. This is also an NPK fertilizer, but in a ratio of 8+12+24 (+4). Also included are boron, copper, iron, manganese, zinc and molybdenum. With this Hakaphos fertilizer there is a change from the vegetative to the generative phase. This allows you to better control cultures and cultural times. Root growth is stimulated, which is why this fertilizer is ideal for starting fertilization for young plants and vegetables. The high potassium content increases frost resistance. That's why the green Hakaphos is suitable as a final fertilizer for nursery plants and potted plants. Foliar fertilization is suitable for cut flowers and vegetable crops, and broadcast fertilization is suitable for all other crops. Here too, spreading is done between the rows.

Hakaphos blue

Hakaphos blue is a water-soluble standard nutrient s alt with a balanced nutrient ratio for fertilizing plants in the growth phase. This is also an NPK fertilizer, but in a ratio of 15+10+15(+2). As with the other two fertilizers, it contains boron, copper, iron, manganese, zinc and molybdenum. This nutrient s alt has a physiologically acidic effect and is ideal for ornamental plants, vegetable crops and woody plants. The fertilizer is suitable as a universal fertilizer and can be used all year round.

  • Hakaphos fertilizers in green, red and blue are mineral nutrient s alts.
  • You have to dose it very precisely to avoid burns and s alt damage.
  • This is a disadvantage compared to organic fertilizers. The advantage is that Hakaphos works immediately.

Attention: renaming
